Time to get Litt Up!
Cast- Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman
“So what’s it going to be about, people wearing nice shiny suits? Because I’ve already seen the promo and it sure looks like it.” Or the smart one’s might be thinking, “It’s about lawsuits, I know that, I still don’t give a crap, because it’s lame and I’ve other better things on my plate than to watch some lawyer mumbo jumbo with economic terms.” Or if anything else you had going on in your mind when you read the title, I’m telling you, I thought it too and now here I’m suggesting you to watch this series. So here is how it begins.
Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), who is known to be one of the best attorney in NYC goes on a hunt for his associate when he discovers Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a college dropout with a photographic memory, who took wrong turn more times than the characters in the movie Wrong Turn did. What’s special about this meeting is Mike never went to Harvard, or any other law school at all, still he got toe to toe with Harvey describing civil liabilities associated with agency, because unlike the rest of us, when he reads somethings he understands it and when he understands it, he never forgets. The show progresses developing the relationship of these two protagonists as they take on cases which challenges them to bluff their way out of it playing good cop – bad cop or by quoting cheesy movie references which would often leave you with a smile on your face keeping Mike’s past life a secret from the others.
Tagging along with these two we have a suite of interesting characters like Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres), a powerful woman who is managing partner of the firm, and also one of the best dressed characters across the whole television. You have the perky & quirky Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), financial wizard of Pearson Hardman who often focuses on being arch enemy of Harvey trying to get an equal status as his’ in the firm. You also get to envision the beauty of Meghan Markle playing Rachel Zane, a paralegal who aspires to be a lawyer someday when Mike isn’t hitting on her. And lastly you get Donna (Sarah Rafferty) who is Harvey’s hot & sweet personal assistant and amuses us often by doing her Donna thingy. You’ll know it when you see it. The combination of a slick attorney and a unlicensed legal genius together with this wonderful bouquet of characters is surely a winning one.
Apart from this brilliant character driven story writing, there are many other things to be appraised. The soundtracks, are way better associated with scenes than any other TV series I’ve seen. We have a wide variety ranging from John Newman’s Love Me Again to Gotye’s State of the Art to name a few. The movie refences in the dialogues makes you wanna forget that you’re actually watching a drama series. The light hearted puns will surely leave you giggling while the nail-biting story turns will make you hold tight the couch. Combining the beautiful backdrop of New York city and marvelous acting makes this series a must watch. The show started in 2011 and has aired five seasons upto now. Order online the Box set of first five seasons or if you’re waiting for the next episode, tune in to Usa on upcoming Thursday. Happy Watching!
